Gloucester based with travel to other schemes and offices as required
£36,537 per annum
We’re looking for a Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join our team, managing a varied and active patch across Gloucestershire.
This is a rewarding frontline role where you’ll work with customers, colleagues, and partners to deliver a high-quality housing service. You’ll play an important part in supporting individuals, resolving issues, and helping to build communities where people feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
We recognise that this role can be busy and sometimes complex, and we’re committed to providing the support and development you need to succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers and local stakeholders
- Managing a large patch, delivering day-to-day tenancy and housing services
- Supporting customers with a range of issues, including tenancy matters and anti-social behaviour
- Contributing to income management, lettings, and empty homes processes
- Carrying out property visits (‘Property MOTs’) and building positive relationships with residents
- Supporting customers affected by welfare changes, including Universal Credit
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support customers with additional needs
- Contributing to community initiatives to improve neighbourhoods and customer experience
- Using data and insight to help monitor performance and improve services
- Promoting digital inclusion and access to local support
About You
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have experience in housing, community-based, or customer-facing work
- Are comfortable managing a varied workload and adapting to changing priorities
- Can communicate clearly and build positive relationships with a wide range of people
- Are able to approach challenges with a calm, practical and solution-focused mindset
- Have an interest in supporting communities and improving customer outcomes
- Can work comfortably both independently and as part of a team
- Have a good understanding of housing, tenancy management or welfare-related areas
We value potential as well as experience, and we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement listed.
What You’ll Bring
- A customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering a quality service
- Experience working with others, including partner organisations or community groups
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively
- Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office (housing systems experience helpful but not essential)
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, where required, to meet customer needs
