Around fifty pupils from St Andrew’s School and Nursery in Evesham have helped bring Brook View, a new Rooftop Housing Group’s development, to life by taking part in a shrub and plant planting activity on Pershore Road, Hampton.

Organised by development partner Stonebond Properties on 2 October, the activity gave pupils an opportunity to get involved in their local community and see how the area is taking shape as new homes are built.

The activity followed a visit to the site by Nigel Huddleston MP for Droitwich and Evesham on 26 September, who was shown around the development and given an opportunity to see its progress and understand how it is helping to meet local housing needs.

Funded by Homes England and built in partnership with Stonebond, Brook View will provide 67 affordable homes: 40 homes for social rent and 27 homes for the Shared Ownership scheme. The development comprises a mix of one-bedroom flats, two-bedroom bungalows, and two- to four-bedroom houses, supporting a wide range of household needs. Some homes have already been handed over, with further homes currently under construction and planned for completion in phases.

Sustainability is a key feature of the development. In Brook View, each home is well-insulated and benefits from solar panels and electric vehicle charging points. These features are not only about reducing bills but also creating healthier living environments on both physical and mental well-being.

The scheme has also been recognised as Sustainable Development of the Year at the Midlands Residential Property Awards 2026, organised by Insider Media.

Boris Worrall, Chief Executive of Rooftop Housing Group, said,

"Good quality, affordable and energy-efficient homes can make a real difference to people’s lives, against the backdrop of energy prices and everyday costs that put pressure on households.

By helping customers manage their energy bills and providing comfortable homes, we can support their health and well-being while giving individuals and families a more secure foundation for the future.

We’re pleased to see this development taking shape in partnership with Stonebond and becoming part of the wider Evesham community.”

Adam Coates, Technical Director of Stonebond Properties (Birmingham) Limited, said,

“It was a pleasure to welcome Nigel Huddleston MP to Brook View and show him the progress being made on the development. Our partnership with Rooftop has been key to delivering these much-needed affordable homes, and it has been fantastic to involve St Andrew’s CE School and Nursery throughout, concluding with planting and time capsule activities. It's great to see the development become a real part of the local community.”

The development reflects Rooftop’s commitment to providing good quality affordable housing while working closely with partners and local communities to create places that people are proud to call home.
