Young People Services

Rooftop is a non-profit organisation that provides affordable housing.  The organisation has a Support and Employability department that includes Young People Services.

We offer housing related support to young people aged between 16 and 21 years. We provide specialist housing, support and advice, as well as opportunities for development and learning, with the aim of enabling young people to lead an independent life within the community.

We provide temporary short-term accommodation for young people across Gloucestershire, a maximum of 1 year unless there are exceptional circumstances. This can provide a vital respite for a young person who is homeless, street homeless, in need of support and security, escaping an abusive situation, relationship breakdowns with family, within an environment that will improve your quality of life. The Rooftop Team, along with the supported accommodation, will encourage the development of new independent skills whilst building on the existing strengths of young people.

Gloucestershire Services

We have four High Support (HS) services providing temporary housing for 16 to 21 years old in Gloucestershire. Two in Gloucester, one in the Forest of Dean and the other in Tewkesbury. These provide tailored housing related support, that is person centred and outcome based, enabling young people to live more independently in the long term.  Throughout your journey with Rooftop you will complete your “Preparation for Independence (PFI)”, which teaches you the skillset to transition to independence and apply for affordable housing with the Local Authority.

Our Gloucestershire Intensive Housing Management (IHM) temporary housing also provides housing for homeless people aged 18+ years.

Housing

We offer temporary accommodation for homeless people. These vary from a range of rooms in hostels, self-contained partially furnished flats and bedsits. To be eligible for a place, you must have a need for support and need accommodation.
