Young People's Fund
Rooftop have established the Young People’s Fund to help young people who are Rooftop residents and customers or who are receiving support from us, to access funding to assist them in their journey into work or training. It is aimed at young people who are aged 16 to 25.
The Fund is available to any young person living in a Rooftop home, or who is a Rooftop customer because they are receiving support from us. The Fund has also been supported by the Rotary Club, Evesham
The Fund is available to assist young people who want help to cover the costs of training, or initial costs of getting into work, such as interview clothes. There is a full list of the types of things the Fund can be used for below.
As the Fund is limited we ask young people to look into other grants and schemes for funding such as from the Job Centre, or local charities, or local colleges. If these Funds cannot help you achieve your dream – then please apply to us and we will hope to provide you with support.
How much can I apply for?
The Fund provides grants of up to £300. Only one grant can be received in a year.

When will I find out if my application has been approved?
We aim to provide a response within one week of the application deadline. You will be notified by email (or phone) if you have been successful.

Decisions on funding applications are made on a monthly basis. The deadlines for receiving applications and finding out if you have an award of funding have been set for the yea. We will consider “emergency” applications but cannot guarantee to give a response.
Who will decide on my application
Members of the Rooftop Customer Panel will make decisions on funding requests. Customer Panel members are tenants of Rooftop who have been specially trained for this role.
All decisions are final. There will be no right of appeal.
What to consider before applying for funding
Please consider all options for funding elsewhere – so check if you are eligible for support with your local college, the Job Centre, also with local charities such as John Martyn’s in Evesham. Rooftop have a limited amount of funding available and we want to make sure that as many young people as possible benefit.
In your application please clearly explain who else you have asked for financial support and why these costs for you to attend training or education or get into work could not be met elsewhere, as well as what the money is for, how much you need and what it will help you achieve. Remember we want to help you achieve your full potential!
Please note that the more notice you give us, the better we will be able to meet your needs and help you achieve.
Please complete the form carefully, giving full answers to the questions, as it will strengthen your application if we can understand why the funding is needed. Rooftop is keen to help young people so please do contact us if you are not sure if you can apply.
Applications will be assessed once a month unless you indicate “urgent” on the application form. We cannot guarantee to process urgent applications.
Limits on spending
Any funds granted may only be spent on what has been listed in the application and agreed by the panel, you will be liable to return any money that has not been spent in this way.
Applicants may withdraw their application at any time. Any money that has been granted must be returned to Rooftop.
Evidence in support of your application
You may be asked to provide evidence to support your application. Below is a list of the type of evidence we may ask you to provide. If possible we will ask you to provide this to us electronically (by email).
Confirmation of your place on the course or job interview
Evidence from the provider of items or fees required for the course
Or evidence of the need for PPE / funding for employment costs
Evidence of the cost of what is being requested (such as the cost of IT equipment)
