The first stage of site work began in early February 2011 and was finished in early June 2011. This project has undergone two years of development, with significant community involvement.

A range of inclusive and innovative new features will be created, including:

  • three play zones
  • a multi-use games area
  • social seating spaces and accessible paths
  • wildlife areas

After a great launch event on 17 July 2011, when about 400 people got involved, 6 'fun fridays' ran in the summer holidays. There was lots of fun had by the more than 350 children, young people and families that took part. Many people had not used the fields for a long time or ever before!

It is a great addition to existing sport facilities in Bredon and makes a wonderful community asset.
