Kitchen and Bathroom Installations on Hold
We are putting our kitchen and bathrooms installations on hold.
All the way through the COVID-19 pandemic, we have monitored, responded and adapted by changing the way we deliver services to ensure the safety of our customers. With the increase in the number of cases being reported nationally and locally, we have to put our kitchen and bathroom programme on hold for the time being.
The government advice has become stronger as the Covid case rates have worsened and we are heeding the warnings and delaying any work that is not essential. New bathrooms and kitchens come under this.
If your home was originally included in our programme for the current financial year (2020/21) we will write to you to explain the reason behind our decision and reassure you that we will to continue with works when it is safe to do so in the future.
This is a very difficult decision to take, but we feel it is the right one., An installation of a new kitchen or bathroom can take over a week to complete and work of this nature has the potential to increase the risk to both you and your family, but also to our contractors, due to the extensive period of time and disruption involved.
We are continuing to prioritise emergency and urgent repairs, in addition to the delivery of essential health and safety checks (i.e. gas servicing, electrical safety etc) and surveying work so we can move forward with next years planned maintenance programme where possible.
At present we are providing non-urgent routine repairs by appointment, but anticipate this may change as demand for services increases.
We completely understand how disappointing this news will be, but, please be assured that we will ensure that your home is included within next year’s programme (2021/22) and carry out works when circumstances allow.
You may already have been notified at short notice by our main contractor, Platform Property Care and would like to apologise that we are unable to provide you with a new kitchen and/or bathroom as planned. We remain optimistic that the situation improves soon and that we will return to providing a full range of services in the future, subject to Government guidance.
In the meantime, should you have any specific queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Planned Team or check the website for updates.
