Keyworker accommodation refurbishment
Furniture Resource Centre has successfully completed a complex full refurbishment of our keyworker homes at Weston General Hospital.
The scheme in Weston-super-Mare involved removing carpets, curtains and furniture, and replacing the lot with stylish, durable new products, all while the properties were still tenanted with busy doctors and other medical staff and students.
Neina Cave from Furniture Resource Centre explained: “We always strive to keep disruption to a minimum and carry out our refurbishments as quickly and efficiently as possible. The tenants have busy jobs saving lives, so our commitment to the highest standards of customer service was even more important.
The accommodation eight three-bedroom family homes, six shared doctors’ houses and six shared medical student houses.
All the properties received new carpets and curtains, new living and dining room furniture, and the family homes also received new furniture for a master bedroom, children’s bedroom and office.
Mary Gregory, Residences Manager from Rooftop Housing Group, said: “I was so impressed with FRC’s attention to detail and the way the whole team worked together to make what could have been a difficult project, very easy to complete. The tenants are all delighted with the high quality of the new furniture and fittings, and our accommodation looks fantastic.”
Rooftop’s tenants at Weston General Hospital were all happy with the work carried out with the Furniture Resource Centre team and praised the team involved, including the housekeepers Ruth Middle and Sonja Milton who worked tirelessly to prepare the rooms for access and cleared up daily for the length of the whole operation.
Doctor Tariq Nabi Memon, lives in one of the shared houses, and said: “I’m really pleased with the quality and look of our new furniture, it’s so much nicer and I thought the way FRC accommodated our shift patterns and managed to transform our homes with so little disruption was fantastic.”
