We were delighted by the generosity of local companies when we were on the search for prizes for our annual Garden Competition. The competition, which was open to the residents of our 6100 homes, was made a success by the resident volunteers who approached local businesses for some fantastic prizes.

The final big winner was Linda Mason from Church Lench. Linda won £100 of vouchers kindly given by Hayloft Plants and she was the first winner of the new Rooftop Garden Competition Shield. Linda came out on top in the Most Improved Garden category too for which she won a barbecue donated by Homebase Evesham and a £25 dining voucher donated by The Crown at Peopleton.

The other prizes were a Hozelock Watering system from Vale Gardens, a wooden planter & trellis from Hartwell & Co., £10 garden voucher from Four Acres Nursery, £10 gift card from Tesco in Evesham, a planter from Golls Nurseries, garden tools from Countrywide Farmers, £25 garden voucher from St Peters Garden Centre, some hand tools from County Building Supplies, a food hamper from Midcounties Co-operative Society, £25 travel vouchers from Midcounties Co-operative Travel, afternoon tea at The Wood Norton, and a £20 dining voucher from The Pickled Plum of Pershore.

Kate Gallant, Community Investment Manager at Rooftop Housing Group said “without the generosity of these local companies and the efforts of our residents the competition wouldn’t have been the success that it was.”
