Dora Matthews Open Day
The Award Nominated Coleford landmark Extra Care development named after a local volunteering ‘treasure’ is opening its doors for a public open day.
Dora Matthews House in Coleford will be inviting Foresters in to find out more about what this extra care scheme can offer.
The joint project between the Homes and Communities Agency, Forest of Dean District council, Gloucestershire County Council, Rooftop Housing Group, and Heritage Care offers bespoke service to over 55’s who are able to live an independent life but need some extra care and support.
The open day on Wednesday 24th of February 2016 will give local people a chance to see some of the facilities on offer, including the self contained accommodation, the on site café, the lounge, garden room looking out on to the landscape gardens, the courtyard and the hobby rooms.
John Sutton, Area Manager for Rooftop housing Group said “This is a great chance for people in the Forest to have a look at the sort of housing that’s available. It’s a special place in the heart of Coleford that means as people need some extra support they don’t have to move to the edge of town; they are still part of the community. There’s no need to book, just come to Café Sixteen at the front of the development.”
The open day is on Wednesday the 24th February from 10am to 4pm at Dora Matthews House, Bank Street Coleford.
