After the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower in London we've had tenants ask us about the safety of our external wall cladding.

Early reports suggest that the cladding on Grenfell Tower may have made the fire worse, but there has yet to be a full investigation.

However, we want to put minds at rest.

The external insulating cladding that we use in the vast majority of homes is Rockwool covered by render. Rockwool is non-combustible, and render is non-combustible. There isn't a gap between the wall and the Rockwool, or the Rockwool and the render.

There are around 80 properties which have a slightly different solid block insulation. These systems hold the highest industry standards and meet current building regulations with regard to fire resistance and spread of flame.

The Grenfell Tower fire has been a terrible tradgedy, and our thoughts are with all of those effected.

If you have any other questions about fire safety a good starting place is the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service page on home safety.
