Award for Chair of Rooftop Board
Nicola Inchbald, Chair of the Rooftop Housing Group Board was honoured at the Women in Housing Awards on Thursday 11 October.
Nicola beat 5 other finalists to scoop the “Board or Committee Member of the Year” award for her work with Rooftop Housing Group.
The award was presented to Nicola by Comedian Jo Caulfield and Chief Executive Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, Sally Thomas at the national event staged by Inside Housing Magazine.
For the last 5 years Nicola has worked tirelessly on making Rooftop a better business, a better landlord, and an example of what social housing can be.
Nicola’s a rare thing, she’s a Chair that everyone in the organisation knows, not just because of her involvement in staff events, not just because of her senior role, but just because of her real interest in their lives, their jobs, and the results that we get together. When Nicola walks through or main Evesham Office people know who she is, when she visits our schemes people know who she is, and she will stop and talk to people. She loves Rooftop, and you can see that in everything that she does.
In the award nomination Rooftop Development Director David Hannon said that Nicola “Really understands regeneration and growth, and Nicola understands sustainable communities from a professional point of view. She shows leadership and she drives the agenda.”
Jack Heggarty the Managing Director of Wychavon District Council and Chief Executive of Malvern Hills District Council supported Nicola’s nomination saying “She is an outstanding leader and a magnificent ambassador for both the Rooftop Housing Group but more importantly, the profile and achievements of the housing sector.”
Rachel Lathan, Chair of Rooftop Housing Association said “I’m delighted that Nicola has received the recognition she deserves, she’s a great ambassador for Rooftop, and for Affordable Housing, and she’s a joy to work with.”
