Rooftop wants its customers to live successful lives and recognises the impact living with negative mental health & well-being can have on a person’s life and their ability to sustain their tenancy.
Rooftop’s Mental Health Outreach Service aims to provide information, advice and guidance on how to improve and maintain your mental health and well-being to those customers over 18. Providing referrals and signposting to other services and agencies as required.
The service has supported customers who live with a range of mental ill health such as Depression, Stress & Anxiety, suicidal feelings and Self Harm, Eating disorders and body image difficulties, personality disorders, mania, Bi-Polar, Psychosis, hearing voices and Schizophrenia, phobias, hoarding, self esteem issues, loneliness and isolation.
Certain situations and life experiences such as relationship breakdowns and divorce, bereavement and loss of loved ones or pets, unemployment or redundancy can also have a negative effect on our mental well-being.
The outreach service can support through these difficult times, signposting you to appropriate organisations as required.

When the outreach service receives a referral, we will contact you to discuss your current situation and advise appropriately according to your needs.
Helping to build self-confidence
If after giving you advice, information and guidance you require additional support, the Outreach Service may offer a 6 to 8-week short term intervention support.
The aim of this support is to build self-confidence and promote a sense of empowerment. During this time the Outreach Worker can work with you to establish new ways of managing your situation, techniques to help you cope day to day, as well as assist you to navigate the NHS & Adult Social Care system, co-ordinating the appropriate external support as required.
