What is the Young Persons Charter?
The Young Persons Charter sets your rights as a service user of our service. You have the right to:
- have your social, emotional, psychological and physical needs met wherever possible
- participate fully in the formulation and review of your individual support plan
- have access to community facilities including health care, education and leisure
- live in an environment that enables you to reach your potential
- be consulted on any aspect of your care, support, or environment that will affect your life
- be treated in a manner that retains your dignity and privacy
- complain about any aspect of your support service
- make your own choices, even if that involves an element of risk
- exercise all your civil and natural rights
- maintain family, friends and personal contacts
- have access to your personal file
- take responsibility for your own personal affairs
- be treated as an individual
- have an advocate of your choice
