Our Activities for All programme

At Rooftop, we offer a range of fun leisure and interest activities as part of our Older People Services. Our activities are open to all older people in the Activities for all logocommunity, residents and non-residents.

The Activities for All programme provides a selection of fun activities based in local facilities that are for everyone to enjoy. Keeping fit and active is key to being healthy and well at all ages and particularly as we get older.

Below is a sample of just some of the activities we organise.

Bingo

The traditional favourite! Most of our schemes offer regular bingo events.

Guest speakers

Past speakers include a spokesperson for Dogs for the Disabled, a hand bell ringing demonstration and a reminiscence speaker.

Knitting Groups

We have regular challenges such as knitting Easter chicks, which are sold for charity.

Line dancing

We have a weekly line dancing class which we hold at Pershore.

Outings

In the past 12 months, organised trips have included Weston-Super-Mare, Cotswold and Burford Wildlife Parks and the Moreton in Marsh annual show.

Seated exercise

We run four seated exercise classes across our schemes – these are gentle exercises for those with limited mobility or balance.

Tai Chi

This low impact exercise is fun to do and is shown to help improve the condition of people with high blood pressure, arthritis as well as other medical and health conditions.

Various entertainment events

We organise a wide and varied range of activities including Elvis nights, a Bollywood celebration and a Zumba party!

Walking Groups

We have three regular walking groups across our schemes. These are easy walks with a walk leader and take no longer than an hour.

How much does it cost?

Some of our activities are free or funded by the Rooftop Activities for All scheme. Others may cost a nominal fee. However, we aim to keep these costs as low as possible.
